The NExT Region Creative Problem Solving Organization

Registration

Creative problem solving starts here.  It is a challenge to get your team number, register your team with Texas DI, and then register to compete in the NExT Regional tournament.  The details below should help you through this process.

Buying a Destination ImagiNation® Team Number

  • Why you do this:

    • To access 2009-10 Team Challenges and Program Materials
    • To allow your team to participate in a DI-sanctioned Tournament

 

    1)  How to do this: (first contact your school DI coordinator as they most likely have already purchased a DI team number for you!!)

    1)       Go to http://www.shopdi.org/ and purchase your team number if your school coordinator has not already purchased this for you.

    2)       Click on the “Purchase Your Team Number” button in the upper right hand corner of the page.

    3) Select Texas as your Affiliate and pick a Team name (school name - Team Manager last name)

    4)       Select the quantity of Team Numbers you want. If you need several Team Numbers, you should purchase one or more 5-Team Paks.

    5)       Select how many additional printed materials you would like. Both 1-Team and 5-Team Paks come with just one set of printed materials.

    6)       Click “Add To My Cart.”

    7)       The next page you see will be a summary of what is in your shopping cart. Here you can:

    a.       Change the quantity of items you are purchasing

    b.       Remove items from your cart

    c.       Go back to shopping

    d.       Or, continue with your purchase by clicking the “Go To Checkout” button.

    8)       When you go to checkout, you will be asked for your ShopDI account information.

    If you do NOT have a ShopDI account: You must create an account by entering your information on this page. Fill in blank fields marked with a red asterisk: This indicates a required field. Click the box to agree to ShopDI’s privacy policy before submitting your information. When you have entered all of your information, and have read and agreed to the privacy policy, click the “Submit” button.

    If you DO have a ShopDI account:  You do not need to enter all of your information or create a new account. You will SIGN IN by entering your email address and password, and clicking the “Login” button.

    9)   If you created a NEW ACCOUNT: after you click the “Submit” button you will be directed to an informational page. Read this information before clicking the “Continue” button to move ahead with your purchase.

    10)   Checkout Step 1: Delivery Address and Method

                    The address attached to your ShopDI account will appear here. Click the “Change Address” button to change your address for shipping. Click the “Continue” button.

    11)    Checkout Step 2: Billing Address and Method

    a.       First, check the box for Terms & Conditions and Shipping & Returns.

    b.       The address attached to your ShopDI account will appear here. Click the “Change Address” button to change your address for billing.

    c.       Enter the codes for any gift certificates or discounts you may have in the appropriate fields.

    d.       Select your payment method (credit card, check/money order, purchase order) If you are paying by credit card, enter your credit card information here.

    e.       Click the “Continue Checkout” button.

    12)   Checkout Step 3: Confirm Your Order Details Check all your information to ensure it is correct, and then click the “Confirm Your Order” button.

    13)   Order Complete. After you have confirmed your order, a page will load that gives you your order number, and the option to print an order receipt. You will need the order receipt if you are paying by check or purchase order.

    14)   If you are paying by check/money order, please send your payment and order receipt to:

    If you are paying with a purchase order, you can mail or fax your signed purchase order and a copy of your order receipt to: 856-881-3596 You will receive a confirmation e-mail indicating your order and payment due after checking out.

    2)  I purchased my team number or got my team number from my DI school coordinator. Now what?

    Once payment is received for your Team Numbers, you have immediate access to the 2009-10 Challenges and Program Materials. Challenges and materials are available in the DI Members Area on http://www.idodi.org/, and are accessible using ANY email address and a valid team number (received after payment is processed).

    There are three ways to get to the DI Members Area:

    1)       From your order confirmation page at ShopDI (only available for credit card purchases)  · Once you have successfully submitted your order and paid using a credit card, you can instantly link to the DI Members Area from your confirmation page. · Click the “Visit the DI Members Area” button on the upper right.

    2)       By signing in to ShopDI: · You can return to ShopDI at any time, sign in using your ShopDI account information, and link to the DI Members Area as directed above.

    3)       At http://www.idodi.org/

    3)  Registering Your Team on the Texas DI website at www.texasdi.org

    3.1.  Create User Account

    • Click Create a new account in the User login Block
    • Enter the required information such as Username, Email and Password
    • Check the Team Manager checkbox
    • MAKE SURE YOU SELECT YOUR REGION.  If you do not select a region, your team will not be available to your regional director.
    • Enter the other information
      (You must enter your first and last name, phone number and select your region WHICH IS the NEXT Region in order to create and manage teams.
    • Click the Create a new account button
    • If you have a co-team manager and wish them to have access to edit the team then they also must create a user account on the Texas website.
    • Please note that you can create multiple teams with one team manager account.  You do not have to create separate Team Manager Accounts for separate teams.

    3.2.  Manage Teams

    • After you successfully login as a Team Manager, you will see the Team Manager menu in the left margin. 
    • Click Manage Teams in the Team Manager Block
    • To create a new team click the "Add Team" button. 
    • If you have 1 or more Teams double click on the team number or school name to edit the team or click the New button to create a new Team.
    • If you are listed as a Co-Team Manager of a team and wish to access those teams, you will need to click on the Co-Manage Teams link in the Team Manager menu.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you navigate away from the Team Create/Edit Form before saving the form then all of you information will be lost.

    3.3.  Setup a New Team

    • When you select the New Team button  you will see the Create Team form
    • Input the required information into the various fields. 
      • At a minimum you must select a School District and School in order to save a team.
      • (We apologize on the clunkiness of the School Selection - we are working on it)
      • Your RD will appreciate your indicating your teams Challenge and Competition Level just as soon as possible.  It helps with planning.
        • Your region may have specific instructions for you on this page.  Your Regional Director can assist you if you have any questions.
        • When you have entered your information, make sure you click the Save Button
        • After you have saved you will be returned to the VIEW tab. where you can review the information that you have just set up.
        • You can print a preliminary copy of your Team's Tournament Registration form by clicking the Print Form button.  A new window will pop up for you to review.  You can click the Print this Form button at the top of the page to send the form to the printer.  Click the Exit this Form button to close the window.
        • At this point you may return to the My Teams list by clicking the Return to Manage Teams button.

    3.4.  Edit an Existing Team

    • If you double clicked on a team to edit the team you will be taken to a page with 2 tabs on it.  One tab will be labeled View and the other will be labeled Edit.
    • The View tab shows you the information that you have already setup for this team.  You may see some messages across the top for things that you need to complete.   You can print a copy of this information by clicking on the PRINT FORM button at the bottom of the View page.  Follow the instructions above for printing the form. 

    3.5.  Printing a Final Tournament Registration form - do not do this!!!!!

    PLEASE DO NOT CHECK THIS BOX!!!  IT WILL NOT REGISTER YOU FOR THE NEXT REGION TOURNAMENT.  PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.

     

    4) Registering Your Team for the NExT Regional Tournament

    1. You need to fill in two forms, which can be found at: http://www.next.texasdi.org/forms/forms.htm
    2. The two forms are: Tournament Registration Form  and  Appraiser Form.
    3. Each of these forms can be filled in on your computer screen with your specific data and then printed off on your computer printer.
    4. Follow the instructions on all three forms, make your check payable to “NExT Region CPSO”, and then mail them to Tracy Bryson, 2116 Evergreen Drive, Plano TX 75075.  The early bird DISCOUNT registration price of $55 requires that they be postage dated by December 1, 2009.  Direct any questions via email to: next.di.reg@verizon.net.
